Retiring Super Meat Boy. Need a new game. Suggestions?

Post by Jerrod »

I've been playing the shit out of Super Meat Boy lately, and I'm pretty high up on the leaderboards (relatively). I'm getting kind of burned out, and need a new Xbox 360 game. I just want to download one from the marketplace, and save some cash. I was looking at Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed (1 or 2), or Dragon age. Thoughts? Suggestions? They all score pretty high, and look like games I'd like to play, but maybe this thread could help me decide.

actually it does when you get beat down a bunch and punch your stick
I played it once and got really pissed off. The moves are REALLY hard to learn, and I'm just not that into fighting games anymore. I like games with story lines that keep my attention. I really dug the Fable and Mass Effect Series.

Aren't the games you can download still all full price? For the games you mentioned you can probably get them way cheaper from a store. I know you can get Fallout 3 for 20 bucks if you get the one without all the DLC.

They're $30 online, and honestly, the $10 is worth not having to go out in this shit weather right now.

I can believe that. Then I say get Fallout 3 you'll get 100 hours out of just the core game easily.

If you've never played them and you can DL them, then:

Mass Effect 2

Bioshock

Fallout 3

Orange Box

Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion

I think the only odd guy out there is the Orange Box, but if he never played the PC version of any of those game he needs to play them, I don't care if it's on a console or not.

I didn't care for Elder Scroll IV or Bioshock. I tried to get into them, but just couldn't. Haven't played Orange Box, but doesn't look like my kind of game. I'm probably going to download Fallout 3 tonight based on opinions here. No love for Assassin's Creed here? Haven't heard anything about it, yet.

I, personally, can't stand the controls and climbing in the AC games. But, um, if you didn't like Elder Scroll than please note some (not me) have said it's mostly Oblivion with guns.

Oh, also Limbo is a very good XBLA game.

I also was not into BioShock. Never tried Elder whatever. I liked AC2 a lot, looking forward to AC3 on PC hopefully soon-ish.

I need to get back on this. I was within the top 100 for the first 3 weeks, then got into Fallout NV and dropped to 350/90000 overall. I played for 30 minutes a few nights ago and got up to around the 300 mark.... For some reason, Highway kicks my ass all over the place. No matter how many times I play it I can't seen to get the fucking patterns down.

I love the Assassin's Creed games. Sweaty and I played through all three in the last couple of months. The first game is very repetitive, and there's less combos and neat things to do with the combat scheme. But, I love the premise, environments, story, and puzzles...

Castle Crashers, Limbo, or Shadow Complex are all great downloadable titles.

If you don't have Mega Man 9 or 10, get those too.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night is on there too if you don't have that either.

Limbo. Turn out all lights and smoke a huge spliff before playing it. And use headphones.
