Deadpool 2 - Eh/10

It's funny, and I like what they did with the Liefeld characters, especially Cable who is basically spot-on, but it's so busy being funny that it forgets to have a plot.

Spoiler - I think the biggest problem is that they wanted so badly to play a joke on the "superhero team-up" trope that the movie spends about 30% of its runtime setting that up, and then it's supposed to be funny when almost all of them die immediately, but it just ends up coming across as, well, what the fuck did I just watch all that shit for?

Way, way, way better than I expected it to be. This might drop to a 7 after some reflection, but for today, in the afterglow, it’s an 8.
Maybe it was the theatre’s fault but I found the movie to be distractingly dark. Not tone wise, you know, picture/lighting wise.

Those RLM losers can eat every cock in the galaxy for the rest of time. Drunken morons nerd-broing with nothing interesting to say for extended periods while riding on the back of a needless explanation of why a shitty movie sucked that was released, what, a DECADE ago ? I’m good, thanks

Just because we share the same opinion doesn’t mean I want to listen to their rationale in their annoying voices voicing their annoying thoughts. We both thought the prequels sucked; I still think he sucks

i like RLM but i can easily see the alternate universe where their every gesture, vocalization and bored jaded joke style would send me into an utterly violent rage

at least with deadpool I came away with a minor crush on domino

the space monster in solo was pretty cool, and the train sequence was nice, but then the whole rest of the movie was a bunch of similar action sequences where there's no peril. got sort of samey.

Can someone give me the Cliffnotes version of why the post-Gamergaters are mad at Solo?

Anyway, 8/10.

Because TLJ was SJW for snowflakes (ie. had non-white non-male characters in it) so they’re showing Disney who’s boss by not going to see Solo

The funniest part to me is that all of these people LOVE the prequels. I keep reading reviews where they talk about Revenge of the Sith being the best Star Wars movie (full stop; not like, “best of the truly God-awful prequels which is an utterly meaningless accolade,” but better than Empire and A New Hope) and then go on to complain about how Luke’s legacy was shit on by this storyline. They made Darth Vader’s backstory that he’s a whiny little bitch-boy and that’s your favourite movie, and you’re complaining about Luke’s legacy ?

Fucking dullards.

It's really bombing here too, though, and that can't just be the Gamergate crybabies not wanting to see it because the last one had an unnecessary ethnic character in it. I think it had been playing for two weeks at the most when I saw it and it was already playing in the broom closets at all the local theaters.

Anyway, that's an unrelated issue. I was just wondering because I really don't see much of anything these idiots could get pissed about with this one unless they now get mad every single time a female character isn't portrayed as completely incompetent. I can sort of see those complaints with TLJ (although I think the movie's real problem is just that it's badly paced), but Solo is exactly the kind of western-in-space that it's supposed to be and really fun. And if this one bombs, they're going to make more over-wrought fanservice avalanches instead of simple movies that just tell a good story. Sigh.
