I have pretty good taste in sci-fi tbqh

Star Wars is fantasy adventure though and my taste there is questionable, I’ll openly admit

Uncut Gems was fucking retarded good. 9.5/10, maybe more.

Sandler makes a single movie that almost makes up for the steaming piles of shit he's produced over the past two decades.

not a movie, but Chernobyl - 9.5/10

''they'' need to make other such haunting miniseries about events like:

- balfour declaration
- ''SIX-DAY war'' Israel and surrounding bullshit
- 9/11/Iraq war lies by the US centered on Colin Powell lying to the UN (could be AMAZING)

Still waiting for Reee’s first review of Cats. Surely one of us has the balls to look upon this cosmic horror?

I saw like 20 min of it. the most shocking thing was the chintzy ass music. just terrible synths. otherwise, it's a musical, and essentially all musicals suck?

I feel like all the people freaking out about the movie must not have seen the play. fortunately, since age 12, I have been prepared for this cinematic oddity.

Have you seen the Safdie Brotthers' previous film? You should check that out also.

the retarded brother is actually one of the Safdies.

Sandler is only good when the directors really know how to wield his very specific characteristics.

I hope people go back and check out Punch Drunk Love.

Also, heard from the grapevine that someone is opening a store called "Uncut Gems" around the diamond district area.

The Safdie Brothers were all about absolute detail - from them offering water whenever someone comes in and the placements of the safe and the whole 47th st culture, they were spot on.

I really want to see it because I'm so fascinated by the exaggerated reaction to it. When I saw the trailer, I really just thought, well, here's another shitty-looking CG-fest, but everyone who's seen it acts like they're the one character in a Lovecraft story who got to see the cosmic horror and lived to tell the tale.

that's what I'm saying - I really think the reaction is overblown

mike myers' cat in the hat was more surreal & upsetting IMO

Necrometer wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2012 12:24 amA Dangerous Method 7.5/10 Pretty good, but I liked the two preceding nu-Cronenberg movies better. KK's untits come out, which probably earned it half a point. I felt like her spazz-performance in the first part of the movie was going to ruin the whole affair, but this wasn't the case.
I watched this again with no recollection of having seen it. Didn't realize 'til halfway through that stuff was familiar for reasons other than having seen the trailer. Although this is mostly my brain's fault, I think I've gotta dock it at least a point for being so literally forgettable...
