It's got buckets of blood for sure, but I don't get why they feel the need to include so many artsy "mopey dudes sitting/ standing around not doing much" scenes in films like The Raid 2 and TNCFU. These films pretend to be Drive when they're really a throwback to retarded 80s action flicks. I can forgive Tom Yum Gong's stupid/ ridiculous shit because it's basically that, it's got no arty farty vibes or dumb drama (watching your parents shot as a kid - gosh, how fucking tragic) like the above films.ghost boner wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 3:42 pmthank you for mentioning raid crew when posting about the night comes for us. just watched it because of that. rules. 8/10

Look man when was the last time you read the Moebius/Stan Lee Silver Surfer?
That's all I wanna know. I just wanna know that and there's no other implication. Just like a general year, or even 'high school' or 'the 90s' whatever.

I've never read it... but I really like Moebius, and it's been on my list of things to pick up for like 8 years. I never hear anyone mention him, so I was just in shock when he turned out to be the reason people were fist fighting in a submarine. I could understand Liefeld being a reason to knock someones teeth down their throat, but Moebius?? Did he fuck up Silver Surfer?Eight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 8:53 pmLook man when was the last time you read the Moebius/Stan Lee Silver Surfer?

Whiskey Mountain - 6.5/10
Hicksploitation from the William Grefé collection. Can't pretend its a masterpiece, but I dug it.
Gemini Man - 5/10
Such a middle of the road flick. CGI just isn't there yet for de-aging and was just as distracting as it was in The Irishman.

Watching(or rewatching) a german new wave film every day because I've not seen an embarrassing number of them.
The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant = 8 DAMN!
Nosferatu(79) rewatch - 6.9999 great but I'm gonna avoid herzog with this.
Possession rewatch - 8.385 D A A A MN (Doesn't count but gave me the idea)
Next up: Paris, Texas. Will it be as good as I remember?

Tenet - µ/π - Can't understand discussions that include people wearing masks. They tell you not to think about the time travel principals (TOO BAD I SPENT HALF THE MOVIE TRYING TO IMAGINE WHEN REVERSE TIME BULLET HOLES WOULD FIRST APPEAR IN NORMAL TIME!) Practical effects and 'splosions, easy to understand.
Die Hard - 6/10 - Bruce Willis smirks in the first half really wear thin on me after not seeing this for 20 years.
Total Excess: How Carolco changed Hollywood (Bonus feature length doc on the Total Recal 4k release) - 8/10
Total Recall (with Verhoeven and Schwarzenegger commentary) - 9/10 - Arnold describes plot points as they unfold while Paul ends every sentence with "Innit?"
Heist - 6.5/10

WW84 - 2/10
It's not for me, yes - I am not a 12 year old girl. Even so, I'm fairly certain that The Babysitters Club books were better written and had more believable characters. I can't believe they had all that extra time prior to release and didn't bother polishing the SFX to a level beyond playstation 2 cutscenes.
Trapped in Paradise - 5/10
Is this the movie where Cage starts making weird acting choices - randomly yelling lines and tossing in different accents whenever he feels like it? It was released in 1994, so I guess this was near the beginning of his transformation. I'm not sure what I was expecting, other than some mid-90's nostalgia, which I guess I got with Lovitz and Carvy.
