He said in an interview (on Letterman, I think?) that it was originally supposed to be 13 episodes, but he had "too much stuff" and ended up with 14. Maybe they aired two the first week so it would still be 13 weeks? It didn't seem to me like there was any reason these two episodes needed to be aired together, anyway.

Don't bother Chad with the facts, man, the facts don't matter when you're on a mission.

I don't know, the maintenance guy telling the Pinocchio joke and the trash guys were an awesome opening to the season. But the second episode was better.

The ending to episode 9 was basically what all these rom-com writer assholes who shit out ten scripts a day wish they could write. I fully expect that episode to provoke about a dozen suicides among Hollywood hacks.

Wow, that Jay Mohr is so edgy. :wank:

All I hear is, "Louie was ignoring me, Ricky was laughing at him." And then Opie does exactly what Mohr was saying happens on Chelsea's show: turn on Louie and Ricky because they're not in the room; but any time Louie's on their show, they suck his balls so hard.

"Louie wanted Ricky's opinion on something to see if Ricky thought it was funny. I'm thinking to myself, there's a lot of other funny guys in this room who might want to see that... Jay's onto something." - Opie. To paraphrase Anthony, Did you, Opie? Did you?

Best was when he went on one of his dull "lemme tell ya about white guys like me" and Patrice O'Neal called him a jew spic or something.

I died at his face after the button yelled "nigger." The look of desperation as he tried showing it wasn't him was the highlight of the season.

I get a weird thrill when I recognize an idea/concept from his standup being turned into a plot point. Nigger Button was one of those moments, but there's been others.

Anyway, best season yet.

Maybe he's trying to be clever and saying this special isn't any good. In which case he would be wrong, it's excellent. It's very different from the last one or two because he filmed it in a club and so his performance is much more muted than when he's running around on a concert hall stage, but I kind of enjoyed that - he's good at both, so he might as well do both. The material's also smaller in scope somehow, fewer big philosophical observations and more self-deprecation and potty humor, but that's fine with me too.

New season of Louie soon. I'm excited.
