Playing Justice for All right now, about two thirds of the way through. Pretty good game, uneven though. Tons of odd spelling and grammatical errors! Basically just trying to power through it so I can start on the third one.

Fucking amazing game series!

just finished the most recent prince of persia game-- god damn what a frustrating, stupid game. i loved it for the first couple of levels and the design through the whole thing was excellent with absolutely beautiful backgrounds, but the generally clever level design was wasted on absolutely retarded controls that worked only sometimes. many of the movements and wallruns are automatic and totally out of your control which i absolutely hated and was the cause of many of the games problems; if the angle you jumped at a wall was imperfect (and sometimes you were put in a position where it had to be an off-angle) then it was really a who knows situation whether he would run up a wall or along it. it was really great when it worked but it's one of those games where if you make a mistake you would frequently get set back entire minutes of tedious repetition and the hope that you don't fall because the game decides you're going to run up a wall instead of along it. then the combat system was also tedious and totally inconsistent-- sometimes i would hit the counter perfectly but get hit. the QTEs sometimes gave you a minute and a half to respond, other times the button would show up for a split second and you would fail. these were totally fixable problems and it would have been a great game if they would have just given it the beta time it deserved.

after he jumps you have to slow time, go through the portal on the left, then run and grab him while time is still slowed

i think there's a time slower behind a door on the right, or you have to drag one over or something

Dragon Age: Awakening = :fonz:

The price is kind of high for an expansion but the amount of content justifies it. The writing is hilarious at times but I can't help feel that they dumbed down the difficulty a bit. I bumped it up to Nightmare and am having no trouble, minus a few "boss" characters. While not paying attention, I had one battle where my entire party went down within a minute. My tank warrior ended up defeating both enemies and drinking a ton of health poultices. I also really like the new characters, especially Anders.

I need to ask and spoiler if necessary, the family crypt of the rogue you recruit early on, do you only get one key right off the bat? It was driving me nuts because I couldn't determine if I was experiencing a bug or not. Going to wait for a patch regardless, I got the achievement for completing all different endings of the game while looting some boxes.

You talking about the basement full of Darkspawn in Vigil's Keep?
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Yeah, you only get one in the first part of the basement. You have to wait until the guard and dwarf clear the rubble. They find a ladder and there's a second area with the rest of the keys and some other nice loot.
I haven't experienced any crazy bugs but from what I've read a lot of people are having trouble. For shame Bioware.

Heh, yeah. They definitely should have waited a month or two to really polish it up. At least DA:A's last level and ending are complete.

Finished it tonight. All in all I really enjoyed it. Had some slowdown the last couple hours and my items disappeared in a certain part of the game. Fuck that was annoying. Rune crafting was fun but a little tedious considering the lists aren't organized alphabetically or by type. I do wish it had been in the first game. I like a lot of the new warrior abilities. Getting circled by genlocks and then using Massacre to kill them was nice.

End game stuff...
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Slayed two dragons. Makes me wish there were more in Origins. In the last level, the High Dragon dropping from the sky was :moreawesome: . Decided to save Amaranthine, had the Darkspawn messenger joint the fight. Told the town captain to kill him after but the ending said he left..? Killed The Architect and the Brood Mother. Have to finish my DA:O mage character and then team up with The Architect next playthrough. Ohgren was hilarious but it was a fucking pain to get his loyalty up. I never did finish his quest and the ending said his baby mama came to visit him. She stopped coming after a bit. Deadbeat dad was a downer. to not getting to bang the bitchy elf.

One favorite part was holding trial and executing the deserting soldier. A few hours later, the villagers and soldiers revolted. They got put down. Awesome.
Edit: Christ it's brutal looking at the Bioware forums. Everyone bitches about price or characters, fuck. RPG superfans are the worst.

you guys should check out the Just Cause 2 demo. it's INSANE.

you know that part in return of the jedi when luke grappling hooks the speederbike to the tree and it wraps around and blows up? you can do that in this. shoot a hole in a gas tank and ride it into the sky?

Let see:

God of War III - Enjoyed it until it became perfectly clear that the double jump/wings over chasms is a pain, and is going to be an on going problem with this game. Everything else is responsive, except this nonsense is almost broken. I'll keep at it of course, but my enthusiasm has been smashed apart like a creature during a QTE.

Bad Company 2 - Was having a blast, until I got blasted like 10 times in a row trying to fight those TOW missiles with the tank. Why was this impossible for me? Too much wine at the time?!

Perfect Dark - Love this game, but I can only play a chunk at a time, before it's pre-Half-Life/post-Duke Nukem waiz become too apparent.

Perfect Dark Zero (demo) - Just wanted to compare the two and see why Zero is so hated. Really feels like a different game, and man, remember when next-gen graphics made everything look like plastic? I didn't mind the demo, was the game really so stinky?

Just Cause 2 (demo) - Well, well, well, I'd say this beats the crap out of the original. It's core shooting is still lackluster but as is all sandbox games. I ejected from a helicopter just to use it to smash into gas tanks, killing quite a few people. :moreawesome:

Uncharted - Fuck this game, it really annoys me. So, I watched all the cut scenes and later level footage off Youtube, and I have decided that yes, indeed, FUCK this game, yet oddly enough...

Uncharted 2 -   Love this so far. Will beat this next, first priority number 1. It feels like all the good stuff from the first Uncharted with all the stuff that bored and made me mad gone from it.

I'm doing the bad thing again, I realize. Not just sitting down and beating one game at a time, which was quite successful last month. I end up playing here and there and then never beat any of these games. You know what went wrong? That damn planet mining in ME2. Completely killed my momentum.

Played Megaman 10 yesterday (on easy, fuck you) and it was in fact pretty damn easy...I'd say too easy. The levels felt really short because there was no "die, try again" repetition. Now that I have beat it on that level, I will happily play the real version and I'm sure it will be even more fun.

The bosses are pretty cool, but I felt there were some pretty worthless weapons...water shield owns, though (pretty much like leaf shield, only with more charges) and I really like the Commando bomb. I wish they had done a bit more with Sheep Man's level, though. I expect a robotic farm level, and instead the level pretty much has nothing to do with sheep.

While I haven't played it on normal yet, I would have to agree. It seems like the only thing that changes is they put these little hovering platforms over key jump spots where you would easily die if you didn't know it was coming up. I'm sure they probably adjust damage and rate of fire on some things, too, but even keeping all of that in mind, it was easy as hell.

Still WELL worth 10 bucks, though.

Oh no, really! Then shame on them for not raising the bar. The game feels older than that, like most N64 and PSOne titles at the time. It doesn't even have the proper sense of flow that Quake 2 had. Still like it, but archaic. Just furthers my cause of Half-Life's ULTIMATE AWESOMENESS.
