Totally agree. Even without clicking the thread, it was the first thing that came to mind. Other ones had some good music too, but nothing like this one.
I think I read an interview from the composer for this game once and he said that he based a lot of the music on metal riffs....\m/

this might be my favorite NES game of all time, partly because the music is so fucking awesome in it.
