since this thread's already here, I might as well ask:

is it possible to set it up so that the page ONLY allows info transmitted from the main server i.e. whateverthefuck.com that's in the address bar? piratebay gave me a virus via the ads before, and I want to prevent this... I only visit that site on linux machines anymore  so yeah, which plug-in do I want?

just use it.
i got some bullshit keystorke logger for stealing WoW passwords that came in via some seemingly harmless flash app on some website, and mcaffee couldn't do shit about it.
opera won't protect you from shit like that.

also be amazed at how ubiquitous "google analytics" is.

NoScript ftw, it is kind of a hassle at first but once you get the hang of it it's the best thing ever.

That's the virus that triggers through the Adobe Reader, right? I think they fixed the hole in the newest update for AR...

Er, I didn't get any Adobe Reader thing. This was 18+ months ago. I think I'm going to use the NoScript on any remotely sketch sites, just to be safe.

Or you can quickly right click the noscript logo at the bottom right and allow the site quicker than that method. Worst tip ever.
