I have a $160 food budget for the next 3 1/2 weeks or so. Being a creature of impulse, grocery shopping usually has less to do with lists than with me running in for ten minutes and grabbing whatever sounds good at the time. Often, this results in me having like 2 lbs of rice and beans to live off of for the last week of the month, which is cool but not ideal. I also need to work some staples in here, I have barely any of that shit in the house.

I've made a list, so far it's something like this --

yeah, but vegenaise is rad. i use it instead of sour cream, to thicken soup, instead of olive oil with spaghetti, to make kale & carrot salad...it's so goddamn tasty....guhh...

vanessa, i really would be interested in absorbing your sausage skills. i always have a hard time passing up the tofurkey sun dried tomato and basil italian sausages when i'm near the produce section...guess i could google 'maken suasages'?!?!

Amelia, veganaise is awesome but it's like 7 fucking dollars and is loaded with fat.... use silken tofu blended with herbs instead?
Suppose if you do want a luxury item it would be top choice.
