Do any of you read books from your computers?

I basically see electronic book readers, digital texts, etc. the same way I view Twitter. Stupid, useless new technology pushed onto bored people with too much money and made to seem "necessary" through advertising. They invent a new product and then go back and try to create a demand for it...instead of the other way around. With digital texts, also, you simply have a new business model enforced by giant corporations who are always looking for ways to cut costs and increase profits. I like regular books just fine and I'll keep my old school library, thank you. Don't come crying to me when you can't find some great "obscure" text because the people who serve you pap-product decided it wasn't in the interest of the majority to produce it.

I've read books on my netbook, and it's not too bad, but they were pirated. I wouldn't spend money on e-book, especially since they want to charge more than it would cost me to buy a physical copy, I can't resell it, and I have no guarantee I'll always have access to it. I have books i bought 20 years ago; I can't say the same for the computer i had 20 years ago.

I haven't yet read a compu-book, and I don't think I'll try, given all the eyestrain issues and whatnot. I'll stick with the dead tree books, thank you very much.

I downloaded Francis parker Yockey's "Imperium" about a year ago and still have not read it (aside from a few pages). On the other hand, I bought the book "Dreamer of the Day" which is about his life and read it immediately. I think I am philosophically opposed to e-books
