that anchorwoman looks like a goddamned grey with a few human prosthetics slapped on

I initially wrote off the NYT article pretty quickly because I first watched that 2004 footage of a floating dot, and didn't find it too compelling. the "fuckin' drone bro" vid at the top of the article is much more interesting, but... I presume that's really modern? so maybe... just a drone, bro?
How are the Pentagon and the DoD going to account for over $20 trillion in missing funds? Well, you figure they’ll point to covert programs and secret development for up to $10 trillion or so. But there’s just no way they’re going to come up with an acceptable explanation for all $20+ trillion.

That’s where the UFO patsy comes in. Yes. They are going to reveal that trillions that were actually squandered (or outright stolen) were justifiably spent on the following: 1. To research and validate the existence of UFOs. 2. To devise and construct early warning systems (such as a satellite network) that can detect UFOs encroaching on our space. 3. To come up with feasible ways to defend ourselves against an unlikely but possible alien invasion. 4. Labs and research centers dedicated to understanding how the UFOs function should they turn out to be real. 5. Etc. etc. bla bla bla…

You see where they’re going with this? When the entire planet is at stake, $10+ trillion in defense suddenly doesn’t seem so bad. Of course, no evidence of actual development or proof of systems will ever be disclosed. You know, national security and all. But all this hinges on the majority of the population believing that UFO are real and that a credible threat is a possibility. This is why more and more information will be released from the Pentagon in the coming months. They want you to believe!

I can't think of an explanation for that

wanted to say "sub launches quadcopter" but if they're only going ~200 mph now, Indoubt they're going to be going 500 mph in 2004 :?

in more explicable news, I can't believe how cool this looks:

Just a reminder: if a UFO lands on the lawn of the White House tomorrow, there is still zero reason to believe an alien is inside it. Weird shit in the sky is in no way conceptually connected to life outside our planet.

I'm saying that if these are ever demonstrated to be piloted craft it's more likely to have a clown, pirate, celebrity chef or bear inside of it, because those things actually fucking exist.
