I read an interview with him where he said that he wants to space out his zombie movies more like he did with the originals. But the company producing is going to pop one out right after the other whether or not he's involved so he might as well do 'em.

Also, I just realized this is kind of Left 4 Dead - the series

Don't know if you were a fan of the comic, but they do that a good deal. People die. The author doesn't have much of a problem letting you get attached to someone for a dozen or two issues only to have them offed. I really hope they do that. Also, in the comic the "heroes" do some really downright unheroic things. They become not just hardened by the downfall of society, some of them end up making really morally dubious decisions-- and I mean maine characters, ones that you really like.

Never read the comics, but that sounds good to me. Flawed characters are something I dig when they seem plausible, not like when it's contrived as hell like the Heroes TV series.

Well it's a combo of The Road and 28 Days Later to me from what I can tell, and while I liked both movies and wanted a bit more out of each in different ways - this series hits right in the middle and I like the way it's going. But it's not like story really has much to do with this though - it's about deeper characters and zombie splats to punctuate.

Just watched this again. It's way good. Not just cool cause it's an adaptation of a great comic. It's awesome because the acting, production, tone, music, everything... is pretty much perfect.

The guy that plays Rick Grimes is excellent.

The look on his face when he shoots the cut-in-half zombie in the park... it's absolutely perfect. Like he just turns off, goes blank. You can see the tears well up in his eyes.

The crying breakdown of the main character, the guy who just can't bring himself to kill his wife, the mercy killing of the torso-zombie, and the inevitable confrontation that's going to happen when the main character is reunited with his wife.

I definitely can't wait to see the rest of the season!

Well if that is the case, I really hope they consolidate that storyline at least. The Governor is still the scariest thing they've encountered next to the highway child molestors, so it'd be a shame if they cut out such an important storyline.
