I think I must have liked this more than some people due to the fact that I had never heard much about it before...so when the surprises start hitting you like 30 mins into it, it becomes much more entertaining. The same thing happened with The Truman Show - I had never seen a preview or heard about the story, so I didn't know he was on a tv show. So when a lamp starts falling from the sky and his dad is getting kidnapped, the 'what the fuck is going on?' factor makes for a much better movie.
