One of the dudes from work is prepping for DMing campaign. We all have shitty schedules at work and not everyone's schedules line up with days off. I hope this ends up working though. Been suffering from an urge for quite some time now.

HAHAHAHA

I am considering either a Chaotic Neutral Ranger where I can just act as a douche the whole session or a Lawful Good Paladin who is a hybrid of Zapp Brannigan and The Tick.

I was chatting with a buddy of mine who was some of the best entertainment in our group in Korea. He is currently playing a Cleric that keeps successfully convincing the Barbarian in the group to harm himself and then refuses to heal him. He has a deal with the DM that since he is evil, he will gain a ridiculous amount of experience if he convinces the barbarian to kill himself.

Anyone play Shadowrun 5th Edition yet? I heard the core rule book has some issues. Past that, I'm just curious if the rules make the game flow fine.

We speak to a very special Dungeon Master, Robert Warbaugh, about his D&D campaign that's been running 2 sessions per week for 34 years. Jason Hashimoto provides the player's perspective to Warbaugh's campaign.

I notice tons of people in the service play tabletop games. Like D&D seems more culturally normative in the Marines than amongst college kids. My ex-Navy pal would call me and bitch when he came back ashore from his time on a NUCLEAR SUBMARINE carrying ATOMIC WEAPONS saying all the radio guys played world of Warcraft's. So weird.

Not only have I run into tons of people since I've been in the Air Force that play tabletop games, I've noticed a lot of the people that don't play, at least understand and accept it instead of dogging on people doing it.

For example, I was talking about Warhammer 40K a while back when I started getting into it and this pilot I work with gave me this look and smile. I thought he was going to start talking shit and he literally goes "Bro, I haven't heard about that game in like 10 years...." and then he just started asking about the evolution of it.

DnD has been the most common tabletop game played that I have noticed amongst my high fiving Air Force bros. Post your D20.

There are times when we cannot operate our day to day mission at work. If we are on NOT DAY SHIFT when this happens, we game. The game we play collectively at work when we cannot operate is Avalon. Avalon owns so fucking hard. You need good liars to make the game. We've played 40K at work. Our commander watched about 30 minutes of it one night and I believe he enjoyed it strictly because there were tactics involved. (we were prepping for a wicked winter storm and actually had to sleep at work).

Furthermore, my current unit has real fucked up schedules (I am not going to explain it, but just understand that not everyone has the same days off and we are on shift work). Because of our schedule, our gaming group has been running "One Shot" DnD sessions. Pretty much, roll up a character to Level 5, someone DM for the evening and expect to not continue on. These have been fucking fantastic. my oldest has been playing with us and is really enjoying it. Between getting him into DnD and him having 4000 points of Tyranids THAT HE STILL NEEDS TO PAINT, I am pretty sure he is officially a tabletop gamer now.
