so fucking dumb lately you have to assume they just picked pairings of characters they wanted together, then ''connected the dots'' with banter scenes and fan service

fucking garbage

only bran being evil and a dark ending can redeem this ramshackle CBS-level charade

season 7 - tune In to see how many times a character might say "cunt" while facing danger no one cares about anymore

write something for an online culture click site...the kind of place where the word cunt is anathema lagging only slightly behind "faggot"...so demure with our spoonfed interests, like toddlers we only reject it when we've had enough

maybe the show was always that...but at least it was interesting... I'm sure there's something cunty and faggish about watching it in the first place

C'MON BRAN BE BAD

I'm still convinced I read somewhere that GRRM says the ending is everyone's too fucking stupid to stop the White Walkers and Westeros gets turned into an ice desert.

game of jet fuel to rocket town isn't exactly my favorite possible incarnation of this show but i think if people are going to cry they should blame the fat slow dying author before they blame the show runners

i love theon

Bingo. Original plan was the show to be 1 book = 1 season but GRRM fucked all that up and left the show writers hanging.

Agreed about Theon. He has one of the best character arcs.

Theon going full Tyler Durden = awesome.

I don't know how I feel about the pacing this season. I think when it's all over, I'm going to watch it all and think about it then. It's definitely different, but they're still really good at narrative shorthand, and I remember at the end of season 6 I was kind of ready for things to... get moving.

I also couldn't point out anything that wasn't handled well in this last episode - the Tyrion/Cersei confrontation was great, Jamie finally getting fed up with Cersei's shit was great, Tyrion definitely, just the Daenerys/Jon romance is lame, of course, because Emilia Clarke sucks and it feels forced.

And I don't know what I think of the extremely Romero way the wights are being handled these days. That scene where they showed one to Cersei was basically straight out of Day of the Dead.

Jamie finally getting fed up with Cersei's shit was great,
I took it as, him protecting his child. It was kind of stupid that Cersei tried to "man up" on him though.

how about the episode opening with unsullied in front of king's landing, when last we had seen them they were stranded at casterly rock? pretty jarring

and the euron/essos fake-out was absolute bullshit. totally pointless, and would have basically required magical foresight on cersei's part

Euron/Essos didn't make sense, true, but at this point I've just accepted the teleportation.

If anything, I was looking at that army and thinking, wait, how many of these guys does she have again, and how does she feed them?

Wow, this season was hot garbage! Derp Benioff and Durr Hurr Weiss are obviously total hacks, which has been suspected before but is confirmed now. They just want the "big moments" and don't care if they are earned or that the way they get there is completely nonsensical both in terms of plot and character. They've resorted to idiot plots and schmuckbait. They are obviously not smart enough to write smart characters, so now suddenly two of the smartest characters, Tyrion and Littlefinger, have become total morons. Did they get massive brain tumors during the off season? Yet, Cercei is somehow smart this season, even though she is supposed to be one of the most impulsive, thoughtless and short-sighted characters.

The dialog is also incredibly cringy and hackneyed, and all the characters are completely one-note. The constant attempts at shitty "medieval Tarantino"-comic relief makes this come across as the most frivolous and lighthearted season even though winter is here and things are supposed to be bleaker, grimmer and less hopeful at this juncture. The stupid fucking one-liners they are making Davos say has turned one of the most sympathetic characters into someone you want strangle every time he opens his mouth.

The plot doesn't make sense, it breaks the rules established in the previous seasons, they don't even bother to get facts consistent with what we've been told before because they're too lazy to work out the details of the script. Nothing happens as a natural consequences of the plot and character development, it just happens because Derp and Durr Hurr want the next "big moment" where an actor gets to show off their ability to mug for the camera or they get to show off their special effects budget.

The idiotic fucking Confederate show that Derp and Durr Hurr are phoning in GOT for is going to be such a massive trainwreck. These dumbasses clearly lack the talent and tact to pull off an idea like that. Which is a lazy rip off of Man in the High Castle and that Confederate States of America "documentary" (which was hackneyed, self congratulating, fart huffing liberal elitist garbage - they probably liked it and got the idea for the show here) anyway.

Good thing we've had Twin Peaks this summer, which was fantastic.

The dragons can eat shit. They're not that fucking great anyway, they use the same models for all three dragons just slight size and color change, it's not that fucking impressive.

I don't get it. Is this some kind of reference to that Asian supremacist guy's dragon novel that you read aloud on youtube?

 no

more an alllooksame.com style riff

but yeah the dragons all looked WILDLY different in that book

do you guys ever watch the post-show thing where the producers explain what just happened? I looked for a "worst of" edit on youtube and was surprised nobody had roasted those guys yet. the way they beam with pride for show-running is incredible
