in other news, that Liturgy album is fucking awful. shocking, I know. I get promos from Thrill Jockey now and again, and I like a lot of their stuff, but I haven't a single fucking clue what the fuck they were thinking releasing this, except that it might help pay some bills.

Haha. I haven't listened to the new one, but the record I heard sounded like I was walking down the hall of a rehearsal space in Brooklyn -- one generic song/instantly recognizable sound after another.

For the record, I love NYC and the music scene there is great in general, but any hype generated by a NY band is usually the first indication that they suck.
