It's quite stupid that we haven't had a thread for things Lovecraft; now we do.

last weekend I stumbled across nature's witch house

here's the trailer for a German version of The Colour out of Space

and I guess the The Whisperer in Darkness film is doing the rounds at film festivals

that thread rules but, like James's thread, it had a purpose and focus... not fit for divers content

I was seriously not expecting great things from that film but I gave it a shot, very happy that I did. Weird as hell but entertaining the whole way through.

I enjoyed this Masters of Horror episode, Dreams in the Witch-House:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0643104/

I liked the format of ~50 minute "movies," it really helps protect against movies that would have dragged at the 90 minute mark.

Anybody see The Haunted Palace?

AIP Poe film aesthetic, Roger Corman, and Vincent Price tackle Lovecraft.

It was kinda there, I looked at it more as influence than direct.

I love those types of flicks in October.

I own this and I still haven't watched it because my CD-rom drive is messed up. Its a DVD-rom animated version of Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath. I think it is still pictures that they animate like they did to the books on Reading Rainbow.

Ah, thanks for the reminder. Gonna grab that and From Beyond to go nuts at xmas time with the fam. We watched Dagon (first time) and Re-Animator (again) over Thanksgiving and had a blast. That dude is the best.

I love it.
I'd known about it for a while, but never found the right mood to make it through start-to-finish... it's sort of a trial!

Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric is a concept album by the band Rudimentary Peni released in 1995. The majority of the album was written while lead singer/guitarist Nick Blinko was being detained in a psychiatric hospital under Section 3 of the 1983 Mental Health Act. The subject matter of the album relates to the delusions Blinko was experiencing at the time, particularly the idea that he was "Pope Adrian 37th" — a reference to Pope Adrian IV.

Adding to the album's unique sound, the pseudo-latinized phrase "Popus Adrianus" is looped and can be heard in the background through the entire album.

Fuck yeah!

All those HPLHS radio dramas are great. I went through a period where I fell asleep to them for a couple months. Sometimes nightmares. Yay!
