Sure, but to simply approach it as a nowadays tale is going dump a different set of problems in your lap. I understand why people go for the throwback aesthetics, but of course it has its shortcomings. I guess that's why I think the Gordon adaptations are such a blast - really loose updated tales. And then it's an entirely different experience. Oh well.

And I was suggesting that you GET drunk, not that you ARE a drunk. As for the other two elements Image

this loosely-HPL-themed murder mystery thing that I mostly wrote and my sister carried out for my other sister's b-day took place tonight - the archetypes I went with were:
- immigrant cultists
- innocent farmers
- naive scientists
- stern investigator

i can only imagine it to be unfun if you spend a bunch of time with wet-blankets of human beings.

That Wasted Land game is okay. Its slow and tedious and hard to play on a phone but Chaosium were involved so its fun enough. The Elder Sign: Omens phone game is absolutely amazing though.

oh yes... definitely watching that

although the other (animated?!) incarnation of that story I'd seen had the most disappointing take on the music itself... of course this is a nearly-impossible task... I'd still love to be surprised by someone's interpretation

Hello, My name is Jared Skolnick, I’m a filmmaker based in Massachusetts. I recently directed a short based on Lovecraft’s ‘The Music of Erich Zann’ and I’m happy to say it’ll be having a screening in NYC at the Tribeca Grand Hotel along with my new short, the Lovecraft-inspired ‘The Earth Rejects Him’. I thought you might be interested in the screening, here’s a link if you’d like to take a look at the program!

Ha!
That Zann film was pretty good. I think the music came across as well as one could hope for. They were wise to contrast it with lots of standard composition to keep the contrast apparent. The climax was a little bit of a let-down, but it's never been about that, has it? Endorsed.

I liked the format of ~50 minute "movies," it really helps protect against movies that would have dragged at the 90 minute mark.
I watched this yesterday and it was pretty good - disappointed that he didn't travel to the different dimensions

I'm still a Lovecraft noon but if you discover a movie called Cthulu Mansion, avoid it unless you want to see a comedy.
