Gravelord event in Sen's this Saturday on all platforms. Not sure if anyone here has taken part of these before, but they're usually pretty fun, with a good amount of participants. See the links for times and rules.

Haha sounds fun. Will partake if I have some time. Might have to level up my NG+ characters a bit. Stupid Valentine's Day weekend. :-(

I saw a bunch.of.people bitching about that and all I could think was "don't redeem the code?" This final month is going to be hell.

They're not pre-order exclusive though, just early access. Speculation is that they're not all that powerful.

I saw that bonus stuff when my preorder went through too. they said all of those items will be in the game for everyone, you'll just have access earlier. not sure if I'll use them or not. some of them do look cool though

edit: ninja'ed

did anyone get the collector's edition? I know it's so damn nerdy but I'm still thinking of switching over. I want that cloth map and art book... and for other adults to never see the statue

I...uhhhhh.....yeah pre-ordered it the other night. :oops::oops::oops:

I couldn't help myself and I also ordered the Design Works book. This one, the Witcher 2 and eventually TW3 will be the only collector's sets I'll buy (probably). That knight is going to stand proudly next to my PS3, haha.

I just want the version with the steel case, but Amazon UK still doesn't have a release date or a price...

EDIT: Also, guess who forgot to kill Lautrec before Quelaag. I mean, it's only NG++, I can't be expected to know these things yet.

No biggie, though. I wanted to go into New Londo without the Lordvessel to see what happens with Ingward, but no way am I bothering with the Four Kings if I can't start over at the Firelink Shrine. So I guess I'll just go to Anor Londo first and fix that situation.

Also, yeah, that means Sif is dead and the DLC's postponed until after I platinum this thing. I don't have that much time left until I have to work again.

Man, I killed the Four Kings on the first attempt today (New Londo took me a while again, though, fuck, I hate those fucking ghosts), made it all the way to Nito without dying (including getting Leeroy's weapons), and now I've died four times trying to kill him, doing progressively worse if anything.

Still don't have Seath's tail. Still think it isn't possible and everyone's lyin'.

is there a place on the wiki i'm missing where there's different routes to take for different results? best practices and guys to kill first without interrupting an npc quest lines etc. i just walked up and killed the first taurus demon and felt like a badass and immediately went down and buttfucked the halberd black knight in the basin and he immediately dropped the halberd. now i'm all Image

Been playing.one of.my NG+ characters in amticipation of the Gravelord event, grinding chunks, killing O&S (except the first time me and a Sun bro had Smough down to the last chunk and then I got but slammed lol), fucked up a few.invaders and Solaire took care.of.one all by himself :moreawesome:. Need to decide where to take this character. I have enough spare levels to get the Darkmoon or Sunlight Blade but I am thinking more endurance and vitality might serve me better for the GL event.

Really enjoying the dualshock 4 with this game but I think I still.prefer the top of.the sticks on the 360 pad.

black knight halberd is pretty sweet once your stats are high enough to use it. looked it up on the wiki just now and saw this, which I didn't know: "This weapon has a higher damage multiplier to its moves. This makes the Halberd actually do more damage than its attack rating might suggest."

can't help but notice the conspicuous absence of 'cubes tales from anor londo. bet he shows up tomorrow saying he snapped the game in half...

I was contemplating putting one of my Sl120 characters through the endgame in order to leave the golem alive for the event, but Sergio Leone movies were made available on Netflix, so I may just end up red phantoming the event instead. Actually, it might provide me the opportunity to get enough souvenirs of reprisal to finally go +3 in the DMB covenant. So much to consider... It's going to be fun though.

O&S are the breaking point for most casuals. If he can beat them then he'll be an occasionally stoppable behemoth until the end.

Speaking of which, you know what works really well against those archers on repeat playthroughs? The dragonslayer bow. *ka-plunk* and watch 'em fall. What fun I had.

I've done pretty much everything possible in a single playthrough at this point, all that's left is Kalameet and Manos Hands of Fate, and whatever's beyond those two bosses (not much more I imagine; I've already gotten my money's worth plus some, and I remember reading that there were four new bosses [I think ?]). Holy fuck, each of the bosses in the DLC are tougher than any of the bosses in the regular game. These guys are fucking brutal and it's awesome. I love how the warp platforms in the DLC all tie together too. This runthrough has made me exponentially more pumped for Dark Souls 2 -- playing it this time has made me appreciate just how fun the game is and how well it plays for the most part. Forgetting the difficulty and the fetishizing of the deaths, it's just a lot of fun to find items that fit your character, and then face off against the tests of the game. I can't wait to see what's in store in part 2.

Kalameet was the hardest boss for me by far. I like to face the tougher bosses with some help, and I couldn't find anyone at all. Manos was really tough, but I had Sif, and two other helpers with me. I can't imagine fighting that one alone. Gwynn was a fucking cake walk compared to the DLC bosses.

Three hours, guys. Three. Fucking. Hours to get Seath's tail off. But I got it.

Seems like unless you do massive damage to it in a very short amount of time, you have to get him down to about half his HP exclusively with hits to the tail. Since I'm in NG++ (although I had the same problem in NG+ already) and Seath appears to be practically immune to magic damage, that means my build is pretty fucked for the purpose. I had to bait his crystal attack and circle around him clockwise to get one hit in and then run like hell to avoid his tail swipe like... I dunno, a gajillion times. And if he gets you the right way, he can totally one-shot you, too. Fuck me. Worst thing I've ever had to do in a videogame? Maybe. It's definitely up there with getting the pure bladestone in Demon's Souls.

Seath definitely sucks full power, and solo. I think I got his tail once, but it took at least a dozen tries of me just constantly attacking his tail and getting murdered. Killing him outright, after Gough weakens him, isn't too bad with enough stamina and a great scythe, but fuck he's a bitch. DLC bosses are definitely the best in the game.

Uh, this is Kalameet you're talking about, I believe? Not that I'd know, but that's what the Wiki says. I've given up on going into the DLC blind, needed to loot some of it to get titanite slabs anyway.

I always forget how retarded the Bed of Chaos "fight" is. Aside from all the obvious reasons, I hate how it's actually easier to let yourself get killed or warp out and start over from the middle.

Anyway, that's done, leveled up in Darkwraith because I want to dress up as Skeletor, only Gwyn left and then a quick run to Sif and I'm done. I think I'm gonna blow off all other responsibilities for the rest of the day and just stay up until I'm done.

can you still start the dlc if you get it and install it after you've started a game and there's still certain events you haven't triggered in your game??

yes, the only thing that prevents you from starting the DLC is if you killed dusk. there are other (obscure) things you have to do to access it, but that's the only thing that would prevent you from getting to it on a given playthrough

also, dark souls is probably the only game that requires a wiki to even figure out how to access DLC you already paid for

not that i mind, it's kind of cool actually
