How's the game play on scrub-boxes consoles?

I really hope they put the other map up on console betas...

i've played all 3 versions

pc: server interface is less awful than i'd feared. looks great, runs like shit on my machine. so badly in fact that i'm considering not buying it until i have a better system (which could be christmas or later )

xbox: frankly it kind of looks like shit but it plays surprisingly fantastic and the controls are spot on. servers are screwed, matchmaking is broken. i'm really worried/interested in seeing how larger maps fare with 12v12. if they play well then i'm very happy

ps3: psn is bullshit for multiplayer, the controller sucks, and the game was even buggier than the xbox. i love my ps3 but not for online shooters. also it's just about impossible to hit the spotting button in the middle of trying to play.

so i'm kind of sad about the pc thing, hope i can do something about that sooner than later. other than the dreadfully low resolution/texture quality, i'm loving it on 360.

and when i say it looks like shit i only mean the actual visual quality. the art direction and animation and everything else looks fantastic. even catching a glimpse of what it should look like kind of broke my heart

also as much as i wish i didn't have to have another game client on my computer, origin could be a lot worse. good download speeds, easy to use..

I heard PS3 was better looking than the 360. Is this not the truth?!?

that's what fbts said too but it wasn't for me. don't know!

i heard (on here or somewhere else; probably bames thread) that they lowered the textures or whatever for the beta on 360/PS3 to keep down the download size. the game looks great as a whole, but certain parts could look better. i am fully confident that the final product will look fantastic

It was funny when console guys were drooling over the trailers and screenshots when they were clearly taken from a powerhouse PC... it runs smoothly on high settings for me btw

that would make sense. for what it's worth BC2 looked much better in final version too so i guess that's possible

yeah you can tell that BF3 beta has the potential to look really awesome, but BC2 still looks better. it'll be fine

its ugly, but i love the maps and weapon handling. leveling up seems quicker too.

Using the engineer that has the rpg with 7 (!) rockets on the second and third mcom stations is also loads of fun.

Unlocked the scar-h, nice up close but really doesn't seem to have much range.

the extended clip on the pp2000 is insanity though. 44 bullets?!

yeah the ump is great too. maneuverable but not too good mid-range. up close with the laser sight its basically a shotgun..

I have no problem spotting people with the Select button. Anyway, my only complaint is the assholes abusing the glitches in the beta, and most of the shitty players who can't attack or defend to save their lives. Other than that I kick ass with the Saw, 100 round belt, bipod, oh its game over when there's five guys in a cramped hallway. The bipod can be a bit touchy though.

I still play BF2, for like 6 years now. Can't wait for this.
