I agree. There's maybe two songs in this thread that actually trump the original. There are plenty of covers I'd consider almost as good, or equal (like Eddie Hazel's or George Benson's cover of California Dreamin') but a cover that beats the original is rare indeed.Natas wrote:sorry carry on. This rules. I was so pissed when they played here about 11-12 years ago and these two inconsiderate crusty broads got in a hair pulling fight in front of the stage and they stopped halfway through the song... take it outside and throw garbage at each other.Idget Child wrote:Maybe add this (even though I still love RP to death):
They were pissed too, the guy with short hair was like "we drove 1400 miles to play for you, you idiots"

I was shocked that no one's called me out for the initial vid (Vader's Silent Scream) and I am ultra shocked at this shit. Either you hate Slayer or you haven't heard enough covers... there's some real bullshit out there. I don't think any Hell Awaits cover is better than the original, as was suggested above. Well... there might be one exception:Stabbable Corpse wrote:pretty much every slayer cover ever is better than the original slayer version.

ITS A JOKE
I just heard both for the first time... it's a draw! Nirvana one just sounds like generic Nirvana. Wipers one could sound like generic Wipers... fuck if I know!Idget Child wrote:Pretty much why I decided to post, too. I don't think this is BETTER than the original, but a lot of killer Slayer covers have been posted and this one shouldn't be overlooked
Also, all covers by Judas Priest except for Johnny B. Goode.
