and learn the basics of no more than 4 FUCKING things on a FUCKING bill. FUCK. YOU.

ESPECIALLY when your idiotic act barely even meets the loosest interpretation of a PROJECT or anything. literally just dragging around the same set random gear since the last time your friend put you on a bill is not how this operates

the entire miami scene is a constant parade of unserious and chatty people just failing to meet even the most minimal standards of anything

I have so many complex thoughts and feelings about the Problem of Movie Theater Talkers that I think the only way to share my rage with the external universe is through a 300-page manifesto...

I'm OK with each of them to certain degrees and in certain contexts

but that's an intersection I can only imagine brings out the worst

probably can't resist indulging the morbid curiosity at some point

Henry's been on Rogan twice if that makes it any better or worse

Surely worse

I enjoyed both tbh :yerma:

that dumbass phone filter they put over vocals. What purpose is it supposed to have? It sounds like shit and it makes me think the singer literally phoned in his vocals.

agree, but they're supposed to be a message on an answering machine, if I remember correctly?

Don't know if I've mentioned it before, but in terms of genuine physical anger reaction, the live-action Grinch movie with Jim Carrey. We had a close call re: this one at home recently, and it so it's fresh in my mind.

If I'm in the room and it's on, I can feel my blood pressure skyrocket. Everything about it makes me furious—the camera angles, the editing, the set design, the costumes, the acting—in a way that no other movie can make me feel. I have only seen maybe, maybe ten minutes of it, and it has inspired a degree of rage in me that cannot compare to any emotion prompted by any other movie I've ever seen. That includes "horny" as an emotion when watching porn.

I would support al Qaeda if their primary objective was to terminate everybody involved with the live action Grinch movie. I would join them.

that movie is really evil

I'm curious (1) if you think you'd have the same reaction in a world where the "original" cartoon adaptation of the grinch didn't exist, and (2) if you feel similarly about the cat in the hat movie

Maybe? I never really watched the cartoon Grinch that I can recall so it's not like it's just tension between original and remake. Just sorta... pure aesthetic revulsion.

I've not seen anything of the Cat in the Hat movie, but if you're suggesting that there are stylistic parallels, this counts as prophylaxis in the world of self-care so thank you.

 regarding the de novo distaste

CitH movie seems very similar on paper but for me it's way less off-putting. the cinematographer of that movie is the acclaimed emmanuel lubezki, for whatever that's worth.

I'm pretty sure I saw the entirety of both these movies in the theater. CitH being the result of my friend & me doing some multiplex-hopping, and then settling into that movie for a game of "walk-out chicken" where we both lost. he coined something of a catch phrase ("i gotta see how this plays out") that day, and it remains a popular choice whenever a terrible movie is not being turned off for some reason.
