would you guys find it easy to respect the wishes of someone who would have a social group basically stay put in a place where no electricity is used for an entire day because they believe god will kill them for using inventions that didnt even exist when god told moses what sorts of things should be avoided on saturday?

of course I'm interested! what would you do in that situation? a group of people sitting around, incapable of travel, because of this list of rules - not anything a person would ever come up with on their own - but still something they're going to use to make substantial life decisions

but I WILL say fuck hasidic jews forever
I have a friend I've maybe posted about here who was raised in a hasidic neighborhood...he's pre-med now, but he had to teach himself math at 19 because they pretty much only studied torah at his school. he didn't know fractions. he also told me that there was a TON of sexual abuse that went on there by the rabbis, but that shit never made news because the community 'policed itself.' which meant that nothing got done. he moved out, cut his hair, became a vocal atheist, and now his family and friends mostly won't speak to him.
