i went through andrew and ton of others over the years and the worst parts are always trying to navigate south miami upsidedown world and prepare in the pre-landfall panic. theres always a weird prolonged aftermath too. it used to be a lot of fun but now its just a lot of stress

i just broke up a fight at a gas station between two people fighting for the next spot in line and neither one of them spoke english

I don't think it counts if they're both speaking spanish.

I screamed at and flipped off no less than 3 people today driving about 50 mph in a residential area. Beer muscles may have played a part. No one took me up on an offer of physical confrontation either, just sayin’

I hope all goes well pal. The older I get the more all that stuff just seems like unfortunate tragedy headaches. I love prepping to fight off disaster and charging all my devices and stuff for storms, but after Sandy we had no power for 2 weeks and I almost killed myself. It was cold and there was no water. That broke me.

Nah I actually think I only remember hearing it when I don't also have Nu-Winamp open. I usually pause audio to read in my browser because I get distracted.

I'm glad other people have heard this though, i've never noticed it before. Felt crazy.

He was in a live band for a while. Maybe ten years or so ago we played with them but I somehow managed to never meet the dude? We lived in the same county forever too. I'll go ahead and post on his fb and maybe summon him here

I stayed at work an hour or two late to wait for an amazon package. They have like a map with the gps coordiantes of the delivery truck. It was 2 blocks away for like 5 hours. Only 6 stops to go!

At 10 to 6 it said "you're next!" so I was sitting by the front window and saw the truck drive by on the road and instantly the amazon page changed to "Unfortunately we could not deliver your package because the building was closed." Then I while I was chatting online with support I saw the truck drive by again in the other direction.

At least it brought you back. And trav, I've dealt with that shit many a time. I had a package delivered to my local post office and since they didnt tell them it was there I had to wait another day to play rock band. Total bullshit

"The customer is always right" is def dead with Amazon. Fucking terrifying.

Last January, i put in an order on my credit card. Later that night, i plugged in the code for an Amazon gift card, and added that credit to my account. Ordered another thing.

Wound up having ike $44 dollars billed to my card, and $1 of Amazon fake money detracted. They basically put both orders on credit.

Freaked out at like 25 different customers service slaves and none of them even cared. Just on principle, I didn't want them to be able to change the amount of my USD used in either of the transactions.

They wouldn't even pretend to entertain the idea of honoring my financial wishes - if was sobering.

that's the straw right there.
