No I love trans people, I just hate transcendence.
I feel like we're at the point now where for when most people come out the response is just "alright, cool, I'm happy for you!" but HHH has to go and be a weirdo about it
I'm glad you're comfortable in your skin now, please go away again?

does this rely on a viewer knowing about plato's cave but not truly understanding the message?

its not trying to say anything, if you want to be a real cutting edge social influencer on twitter you can amass a loyal cohort of rt/fav clones and reply guys if you just relentlessly shitpost in a political philosophy register

going out on a cringe-limb here, but if travis asks, I answer
the original meme captures a disconnect between generations - a ray of benevolence finding its way through a cloud of misunderstanding. it has SINCE been repurposed for a bunch of less interesting / less funny purposes, and I had these in mind when looking at the mash-up, which set me off-course somewhat.
if we really keep the original meaning of the meme in mind, I think there's a reasonable interpretation of the mash-up. the third act of plato's cave allegory finds the cave-leaver returning, and tragically this enlightened guy is not understood, and the cave-dwellers are sure he's insane/confused. that's a nice parallel with the dad & hentai-bame son meme - a total disconnect were each party is sure they've got it all figured out and thinks the other is out of touch
as an obligate absurdist I don't think the lasting impact of plato's allegory lies in the third act, or even in the second act (when the enlightened philosopher leaves the cave and sees the world as it really is). plato adding those elements feels arrogant and kinda embarrassing; I appreciate the absurd first act where we're all in the cave forever and nobody gets out. but maybe that narrow appreciation is on me (in terms of GETTING the mash-up).
the general vibe of the comments on twitter is that we've all gotta get outta the cave, which is definitely not the point IMO. so maybe I'm more irritated at people's reactions than at the thing itself. I think I've come around.
