I really love the fucking bleakness of this show. When MM was talking about being undercover and then about the death of his daughter? There are just so many good moments. The beat up car chugging out exhaust through the swamp with the camera pan into the trees? Fuck me. Just heard there are only 6 more episodes. I want to marathon this thing already.

I have to thank you gents for telling me about this show. I saw the name and didn't realize it was an HBO show, so I had dismissed it as another reenactment/reality show mess. Really good stuff, watched episodes 1 & 2 back to back last night. I'm so happy they showed that broad's body.

I know, I know. Just wishful thinking. I've never read the Chambers stuff but I'm familiar enough and it seems like the show wouldn't get into any goofy cosmic horror stuff. Probably for the best.

Great, great stuff. Cohle calmly telling Hart how he could permanently disable his hands was so badass. Love Cohle's narcotics backstory, too. The more present-day Hart talks, the less I like him, and the more suspicious he seems.
