It never even occurred to me to watch it because the movie was such a concise, finite story. How do things like this happen?

I'm a couple of minutes into the first episode now. it seems not to have anything to do with the actual world of the film- it's just a really similar universe with really similar characters? and the music is making all of the same moves, but it sucks and lacks any of the interesting color that the burwell score had. it looks reasonably good for a tv show, visually. I might not end up hating this, but I hate the idea of it.

There aren't many things I hate more on this planet than Billy Bob Thornton.

its got nothing to do with the movie. i agree with the score thing, but other than that this shit rules.

I normally hate Thornton too, but some how he works here.

I saw that a rerun was on saturday at minight, so my lady and I drunkenly watched half of it. actually pretty goddamn impressed by it and I look forward to watching the rest tonight. it looks great. I'd assume it was a movie rather than a TV show if I didn't know better.

newest episode ruled. was kind of odd how they tied it to the movie though.

I watched three in a row so they kinda blended together, but yeah, the last hour kinda tailed off a bit. still good though. I really liked the scene with neighbor telling that story about the guy who gave away all this money. the show's got a cool atmosphere when they do stuff like that, like the voiceover at the end of that episode a few weeks back with the bloody shower...
