my father's like that. a little black pepper or some shallot or something and he starts saying "oh this has a little KICK to it." as soon as a pepper enters the equation, all food becomes unacceptably hot.

I called him out on it once after he sent back a fucking jalapeno burger for being too spicy, and he flew into a defensive rage and started yelling about how he used to live in africa
