it's a little different with Alan Moore though, because he's not speaking from a place of complete ignorance, nor was he really disparaging an entire medium, just the mainstream superhero genre (and really just its modern incarnation) within that medium. Maher on the other hand is an overreaching smarm factory too devoted to his on-brand bitchy hot take to explore or elaborate any further on much of anything, let alone comics.
others sharper than I have pointed out that Maher is brushing up against a worthwhile discussion about the correlation between certain forms of entertainment and stunted maturity in the wider culture. he's just too lazy to further articulate his perspective.

Totally different. Ask Alan Moore about anything he's ever talked about and you will get a very well-thought out, probably drawn out lecture that makes it clear that he knows what the fuck he's talking about. Also, he actually listens and will engage you on the points you made. Bill Maher however Why do people still listen to this grumpy old man? He's like your average "everything used to be better in the olden days"-grandpa at your average family union.

Is the Barbie movie really man hating? If anything the treatment of Ken is misandrist as his only existence is to please Barbie.
