Aren't they paying like $15 a gallon for water in LA nowadays and 3-eyed Fukushima tuna finally made it to the Albertson's fishmongers? I wouldn't be too concerned Rossy.

I think there's way more nazis these days. I could be wrong but I feel like there's been a grand expansion in "The jews are evil and run the world" thinking. That's not really such a good sign...

I was under the impression that you lived more than a couple of miles from LA :confused:

im pretty far from la but if i leave at the right time i can get there in around an hour. and yes, gasoline prices are insane. its a full 50 cents higher than it is here which, again, is around 80 miles away

I was mostly being an antagonistic douche (put this on my tombstone already) but after a recent weekend there it's still so perplexing. everything is spread out, you can't walk anywhere, no public transit, sickeningly superficial people, it looks dingy unless you're in beverly hills which is its own breed of hellscape, no apparent city planning beyond "more strip malls"... it really feels like an end of the world we could slip into all too easily

Great thread Ross. I will contribute reminders that are actually consequential, however.

Things that make Ross take pause with the modern world: cellphones

Things that are not at all related or symptomatic of the dawning barbarity in the western world: tsunami of people from the most violent and primitive places on earth.

Ok.

There are. It probably has something to do with the viral nature of these Rothchilds/Bildeberger conspiracy theories that are just thinly veiled anti-semitism and you probably don't have wade deep into the internet cesspool that take this garbage seriously before you come across the good old Protocols of the Elders of Zion

In the USA the need for a car to get anywhere is the equivalent of the soviet domestic passport system. It's a way of restricting movement of those who don't deserve the country because they haven't paid in enough in to have a car.

USA = GULAG

also yeah your suposed to think things are 'better' when you get older, but you really done because it just becomes more and more clear just how very fucked they are.

ross has his correct points about what makes LA suck but the transit thing has gotten so much better and is already much better than any number of big cities in the u.s. that i kind of wonder what efforts he took to use it. in LA proper, the metro is pretty great. that there is a three plus hour window of nonuse is kinda lame, but the blue line runs all the way to long beach, and the expo extension to santa monica is gonna be open in like a month. and suburbs/exurbs are well serviced by metrolink that compares favorably to other light rail. it's easier for poor people to afford car expenses than the rents near most metro-serviced areas, but that's the truth basically every place that has subway/light rail service—plus there isn't a mass transit culture out here yet, which will take time
