also, when I watch some other big channel by a real human, they are always mentioning how their video recently got flagged because there was a knife in the background or something and if they get another strike, their channel will be deleted. Or someone said "fuck", so the video is _demonetized_

Elsagate, aka algorithmically generated childrens videos on youtube monetize mass-scale brainwashing and psychological abuse of very young children. (I did do a forum search for Elsagate and didn't come up with anything. This is some weird, weird shit. The videos linked in that article speak for themselves.

that article is INCREDIBLE - thank you

I don't know about the "abuse" angle, though. even "rock a bye baby" has a plot that puts an infant in harm's way...

but I guess drinking piss is another level

the basement-dweller at 0:50!!! :moreawesome:

I actually love living in basements and my current apartment is the bottom story of a huge house and it rules because it is on a hill so it's half basement half & garden-forest view

just another day at the morgue

seriously though a couple of years ago I would have been sure the first person murdered by a driverless car would've had some sort of consequences - this isn't going to change a thing

The thing with self-driving cars and safety is, there's basically no question that they're safer, statistically, than human drivers, but something about the idea of being killed by a machine is less acceptable than being killed by an idiot who was fiddling with his phone instead of keeping his eyes on the road. It's kind of an interesting debate if you look at it that way.

the amount of people in a row, that you can clearly discern, totally fucking preoccupied with their phones while driving in this city is some real daily bone chilling shit

its getting so much worse

it's definitely interesting

I don't doubt that a future filled with safe robo-cars is ahead of us - that is fine

what is not fine is the lack of accountability. when these cars kill people, nothing happens. every person who partially contributed can point to someone else and say it was their job to prevent it. I am not saying that's better or worse than the distracted driving murderthon than fvbtus is hinting at - it is distinct though. it's the same shift as the drone thing - when robots do bad stuff the concept of culpability just sort of evaporates. I can easily imagine this having super dire consequences on a grand scale, too.

Software companies have this concept of a bug bounty; If you find a security defect, you report it and the company pays you.
Idea: recruit people to find creative ways to try to get hit by the cars. Successful hits get paid out to the contractor's family and the data is used to improve the safety of self driving cars.
You gotta break a few eggs to bake a cake or whatever and this way only people who choose to get hit by cars.
There could be some kind of GPS enabled app that showed the location of potential gigs.

The world's insect population decreasing by something like 75% in the last twenty years. Are we even going to be around to see the pinnacle of the climate catastrophe/collapse? :brokenheart:
