In 2009 Slayer toured Australia with Megedeth.

KK’s tech Armand (RIP) was in a relationship with a friend of mine and he invited me to the Sydney show to hang out.

He was good friends with Pike & while Megedeth played he gave me an advance of Snakes for the Divine to play on his iPod. The other techs are real good blokes and kept asking if I wanted to watch Megedeth from side of stage - but I was transfixed- the title track, the Bastard Samurai riff, Frost Hammer - every album has a minimum of three classic bangers. Plus fuck Megedeth.

I’m pretty sure it was Snakes that Armand lent Pike Slayers South of Heaven era Marshall’s to use on the recording.

Never seen them play a bad show.


I reckon Blessed Black Wings might be the best though. Was sad to see Des go / he’s an animal.

i do! i was fortunate enough to go out with cavity on a florida tour with high on fire and sour vein back in like 99(?). creation is crucifixion were on the date in gainesville. it was obviously a big deal for me personally getting to meet matt and talk to him about life and sleep and dopesmoker and the bible and shit. he was such a sweet down to earth dude and he really struggled with his stupid giant green amps every show in a sisyphean way. my friend and i still make fun of me trying to spit game to liz in sour vein (13, later electric wizard) and her just not even being able to see me like i was a casper the friendly ghost or something

hOF were an absolute force of nature every single night though
