I mean I think that's what was implied. In TDKR comic as I recall he extracts sun-life DIRECTLY FROM FOLIAGE like an evil vampire.

In all 3 ZS Superman movies, he adopts that pose in the upper atmosphere right before the big finale battle - it's pretty cool.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING

This sucks but doesn't surprise me at all... Ben Shapiro had Hollywood aspirations. When he was rejected repeatedly, he made the same turn to conservative politics that many failed (insert celebrity occupation here) types make. Starting a production company that utilizes "cancelled" or likewise sadsack entertainers is Shapiro's way back into Hollywood, and he's just getting started. He's working with a guy who created the Rebeller website, which was a right-leaning movie review/culture site before he got cancelled.

It's just gonna wind up being a depressing z-tier studio who makes Kevin Sorbo movies... I don't mind the idea of it being in existence, but I'm sure it's gonna go nowhere. Crackpot shit that goes straight to Christflix, after a $20mil theatrical run in the flyover states.

Like if there was actually a studio where S. Craig Zahler made Nietzsche scifi movies about the 2nd amendment starring Louis CK I'd probably want to see that

yeah I imagine these movies will come out like the Atlas Shrugged trilogy. trying so hard to be elite and impressive, but incapable of hiding their ramshacklity

Actually it's the busiest month of the year at work right now, but really, if it wasn't, I'd probably want to concern myself with more intellectually fulfilling things like clipping my toenails.

Damn I just realized this hack did the Owls of Ga’Hoole which I completely adore.

Zach Snyder makes the best superhero movies. The only stuff that comes close is the first two Blade movies and Darkman.

So I watched the Snyder cut yesterday, and... I didn't hate it?

In fact, it's probably the closest thing to a coherent and reasonably enjoyable movie Snyder has made since they threw him Watchmen and the entire DC universe because "this is Sparta!"

Of course the four-hour runtime is ridiculous, especially because the last 20 minutes are basically Batman having a nightmare about being in a Zack Snyder movie. But if you cut that and a whole bunch of the other unnecessary shit in the first half, you've got a two and half to three hour movie here that's... let's say serviceable.
It certainly does have all the usual Snyder-isms from the impossibly ham-fisted use of music to the color palette being "15 shades of dog feces" and the slow motion and the ridiculous poses and the closeups on people making shouty faces. But it's not an incoherent mess, the characters are actually sort of likable, and it's even occasionally funny.

And I will say it's absolutely better than the theatrical version, and it didn't need Joss Whedon to come in and squirt a bunch of snarky teenager dialogue all over it like he does with absolutely everything, and to basically dump all the Cyborg stuff and make it about Batfleck discovering the magical power of friendship.

It just needed some smart editing to get it down to a sane runtime and make sure the focus is on Cyborg and his daddy issues, and maybe juxtapose that with the fact that Steppenwolf also has daddy issues. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm a little shocked because I expected it to be an unbearable trainwreck, but it's actually, uh, fine.
