Cockrasher - Lost City

ironic, since I passed up on the chance to see them live tonight... fuck an all-night show where there's only three bands I'm even remotely interested in seeing, and where I know I'll have to sit through a bunch of skate/pop punk and some "acoustic punk" crap

Bob Mould - "Wishing Well'

Every once in a while, I listen to this song and the crescendo/climax at the end, where his leads mix and wash over his impassioned vocals (combined with the bleakness of his lyrics), gets to me, makes me emotional, to be honest, chokes me up a little.

This happened today walking back from Bierkraft.

Other songs that turn me into suidade homo: "I Love the World" by New Model Army, "You are My Sister" Antony and the Johnsons, "Failure" by Swans.

There are many more

I'm such a drama queen sometimes...

Past few days, it's been "Bring Da' Ruckus", by Wu Tang Clan.
Today, it's "My Manhood Is Not Measured In Inches" by Owen Hart.

In 1991, Johnston was able to air his music on a radio show while being hospitalized at a West Virginia mental hospital. While hospitalized, Johnston sent requests to his manager to have Yoko Ono produce his music and to contact Mountain Dew about the possibility of becoming the soft drink's spokesman. Johnston wrote a song praising Mountain Dew during this hospitalisation, in which he claimed to have been locked up for being "crazy about Mountain Dew."

Tom Waits - Hoist That rag

http://www.mediafire.com/?75mxuhyuyym

Well I learned the trade
From Piggy Knowles and
Sing sing Tommy Shay Boys
god used me as hammer boys
To beat his weary drum today

Hoist that rag
Hoist that rag

The sun is up the world is flat
Damn good address for a rat
The smell of blood
The drone of files
You know what to do if
The baby cries

Hoist that rag
Hoist that rag

Well we stick our fingers in
The ground, heave and
Turn the world around
Smoke is blacking out the sun

At night I pray and clean my gun
The cracked bell ring as
The ghost bird sings and the gods
Go begging here
So just open fire
When you hit the shore
All is fair in love
And war

Hoist that rag
Hoist that rag
Hoist that rag
Hoist that rag
"It is the maze that dreams. And I am lost."
