Re: BEST EARLY 90S DEATH METAL CDS?
if i listed something you already did ooooops if i missed something ooopps if dip into stuff out of the time period ooooops here are some good albums if you haven't heard them check them out, i probably missed some things but i probably never cared about some major glaring gaps of info bits in my metal education, i mean there are some major bands i have never listened to
Sadistic Intent - Resurrection
Massacra - Final Holocaust
Impetigo - Horror of The Zombies
Delirium - Zzooouhh
Morgoth - Resurrection Absurd
Cianide - A Descent Into Hell
Massacre - From Beyond
Immolation - Dawn of Possession
diSEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence Into The Peripheral
Incantation - Onward to Golgotha
Grave - Into The Grave
Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
At The Gates - The Red In The Sky Is Ours
Disastrous Murmur - Rhapsodies in Red
Athiest - Unquestionable Presence
Master - Master
Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos
Therion - Beyond Sanctorum
Autopsy - Mental Funeral
Nuclear Death - Bride of the bleghelgh carrion tampons
Sinister - Diabolical Summoning
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Asphyx - The Last One On Earth <------personal all time favorite
conclusion: like 80s hardcore, death metal was boatloads of fun when it first took off (even if I was too young to speak correct english and wasn't particerputooting) but its all turned into a stale rotten fish paste of cut n paste bands, nowadays good bands are buried under a mountain of myspace/hipster bands of the week and stand no chance of survival even if they take and extreme Black Flag lifestyle of constant touring and recording devoting their life to the art, the tiny audience can no longer tell the difference between good and bad so they stop paying attention all together and just drink, listen then forget, it is a depressing thing to spend ones time on and it will be the first to go with the rot of time, no one will remember or appreciate death metal many years from now

Re: BEST EARLY 90S DEATH METAL CDS?
I am extremely pessimistic and think all good music is gradually buried as years go by, the best and more interesting bands are forgotten until only a couple of titles are left standing merely as reference points for what ever it led to. It's happened to every genre and death metal already has a good deal of buried classics (good luck trying to convince anyone to listen to anything unless you have them at gunpoint). No internets will stop this. But I could be wrong.cold radiance wrote:If you're talking about the stuff that's coming out now, yeah. If about all the great classic DM albums...I totally disagree.
