Re: Monarch new records and tours
They fucking suck. My only fond memory of Monarch is hearing Hevi from Corrupted talk about how he doesn't like them, which isn't so cool in and of itself, but thinking about how much that would probably bum those French hacks out made me pretty happy.

I don't particularly care for this band anymore. it's good to see all my friends feel the same way, hyuk!

saw them a couple of weeks ago with Wolves In The Throne Room and I reckon they had improved since last time - the new drummer (that ponce from Gray Daturas) isn't as intense as the old one but at least they were more interesting and more varied than last time

They were heckled to an early finish in Melbourne apparently.
I like them though.
As Mendi said, the new drummer doesn't hit as hard as the old guy - but - I really liked the song they played for their set in Canberra - It did long form perfectly, built pretty much huge sonic spaces like vapor and built it up til the last 10 mintues or so sounded like the ghost of Joan of Arc being burnt on the stake to a black metal at 2 bpm soundtrack.
I actually prefered them last time as the drummer nearly shatter the heads with each hit, but still good.
Really liked Wolves.
