Re: Let us talk of cheeses.
In this country:
Havarti, Extra Sharp Cheddar, Goat Cheese log, Mozzarella Di Buffala ...etc
It's hard to find really good aged cheese because of the pasteurization laws here in the US.
When I go back to France I always go on a Cheese Binge there:
My favorite are:
Brie De Meaux
Non-pasteurized Camembert
Beaufort, Comté
Bleu Des Causses
Brique Des Flandres
Fromage de Chevre
Chaource
And my homeboy, The Maroilles:
The worst smelling cheese there is on the whole continent, but it tastes fantastic when it's cooked!

If you watch Food, Inc you'll understand why we have such pasteurization laws... and promptly leave the country probably.Hell-haine wrote:In this country:

Customs have thrown away pounds of my cheese before.
Mum can pass it through the net sometimes. Along with Foie gras.

I can't imagine that any cheese smells worse than Telleggio.

Maroilles needs to be put away in its own compartment, wrapped in a zip-lock, 3 plastic bags and a tupperware or your entire fridge smells like a purulent foot abscess.
