Land of The Dead was such a turnoff I didn't bother with the one after and I probably won't see this one. But I have watched Day and Dawn recently.

I got tricked into watching Diary of the Dead. Not wasting my dollarbux again.

Streven Adler wrote:diary fucking blew ass. i was expecting the same from this one, and was prepared to stop the film early on, but it's rather engrossing in the first half. it's no worse than day of the dead. the cgi gore is a bit off-putting, but nowhere near as bad as it was in diary, or in land, and you get used to it midway through the movie. my only problem with the film, beyond the horrible irish accents, is the stupid fucking zombie evolution bullshit. at least it's something different. it's still a romero zombie flick, and an ok one at that. fuck the haters.
The thing with these movies is that there are so many fucking headshots that it makes one tense and you're constantly expecting the actor who is on screen at the moment to suddenly go down in bloodspray. I suppose that's an interesting new kind of tension (maybe not new at all), but I think it's pretty cheap. Maybe it fills in where there isn't any tension at all anymore caused by the harmless dead?

Saw the trailer. It looks like it would be the sequel to Diary of the Dead, which was pretty fucking heinous.

I think you are the first person to give a semi-positive review of this.
I would totally love to enjoy this movie, but I think Romero has other agendas these days. He's more concerned with having some stupid mummy comic relief than making a truly horrifying zombie movie.

Everything he did from 1968-1988 was fantastic and legendary, but he's lost his touch and it makes me sad.
(To be fair, I did enjoy Bruiser and even Land of the Dead, but there's many caveats).

Watched the first 30 minutes last night and fell asleep. Will probably not watch the rest of it. I'm usually not bothered by CGI, but this was kind of annoying.

I got about 80% into it and found that I just didn't care.

Off topic but anyone see the bad lieutenant remake? Holy shit! This is why I rarely watch movies anymore.

Word is Herzog made it not even knowing he was doing a remake having never seen the original film. I actually believe him, can't wait to see it.

Had no clue this was out, its done by George Romero so I'll see it, I need to tell my bestest she lovesssssss zombie movies no matter how bad they are. See if someone was able to pay George enough to get good writers, and good everything else for that matter he'd be able to make good zombie flicks but in this day and age if it isnt teen bullshit or vampires no one cares. Fuck you Hollywood, pay Mr. Romero top dollar for a good or great new zombie movie so he can put the shitty ones to bed.
