LiveJournal: I'll be spending all next year in Ghana

My girlfriend just got a Fulbright grant to work on a film archiving project and do an oral history of film production in Ghana/Gold Coast. I'm going to go with her, and start my "research," whatever the hell that means at this point. I'll still have to go back at some point to do my official dissertation research, but this gives me a head start. I'm still not sure if I can get the money to do this, but I'll find a way.
