i never thot id say it but death metal sucks! lol at least the new stuf duz. over the last few yrs there's been like Mayb 1 good death metal cd's per year, if that! that's a frickin' pitiful ratio. name 1 good album of 2010 besides Waking the Cadaver. u cant. ok i kno wat ur gona say, Defeated Sanity wuz kewl. but it wuz nothing to write home abt either. there's so much conformity n death metal its ridiculous. every band is the same. they all rip off Suffo song titles, and artwork, and riffs. Suffo werentg even the best brutal death band, y every1 wants to be like them i dont understand. so prety much death metal has been reduced to Suffo copy-cats,Incantation/Immo copyers,and Cannibal Corpse copiers.

Weapon's last album is way better than Waking the Cadaver. Mitochondrion's new album is great and the new Necros Christos will blow minds. Stop being such a girl.

nah but have you heard of Kerasphorus and Perdition Temple? Kerasphorus has Pete and Perdition has Gene with the touring drummer from last Angel Corpse album.

Kerasphorus was not that good. One unfocused release and it's obvious why they would split up. Too bad Pete and Gene don't get along because Angelcorpse was way more than the sum of its parts.

you heard of Peshmerga? the band has 3/4ths of the Stabwound Intercourse line up. im underwhelmed with the new Gorgasm, i hate to say it but it has too many mediocre slams and less of the awesome melodic techiness that Gorgasm is known for. Peshmerga sounds more like Gorgasm.

Haha, no Canadian, not Bangladeshi. You're right, they definitely add some black metal influence but I think the death metal shines more. Songs in the spoiler.

that new gorgasm sounds kinda lazy considering it's been five years since masticate. i still dig it but i guess i shouldn't expect too much magnificence from a band that writes songs called "dirty cunt beatdown".

new mitochondrion is a huge step up from the last one which didn't leave much of an impression on me partly due to the production. you can hear they love nile but thankfully they're not wasting time on the athletics of playing like that. these guys sound like the band people think portal are. profound lore puts out some generic death metal so hopefully this doesn't get overlooked. drumming is clunky at times compared to the charisma of the guitars, but not too distracting.

It opens up after a few listens...as usual. I really like it, but yeah...I think their last album was much better/catchier.

surprised they didn't include the songs from that 2006 promo. check that out if you haven't... more in line with masticate calibre.

ok i just herd the weapon (pronounced "vepen" sry i culdnt resist) and ya its gud! at 1st i wuz ready to discount it as like a slightly less f*ggy nu-behemoth clone,but it got better as it went along. it gets realy gud like at the 5:19 sumthing mark! ill hear the other stuf soon. im n aquarius i gotta procrastinate. thanks!!

I'm with you on this one, but mostly because of the brutal dm comment. I think anyone who likes Gorguts/Immo/Incantation could accuse Portal of being, while maybe not wholly generic, nowhere near as original as people make them out to be. All the post-Portal, reverbed out dm that's been coming out for the last couple years -- now that shit's generic.

The new Mitochondrion's a giant step up from what they were doing, but it's hardly revolutionary.
