WORMED live, full set

Post by Necrometer »

no idea why Paulo PM'd this to me instead of just posting it, but regardless here's an hour-long set from them in Spain with good A/V quality for all my fellow sad sacks absent from MDF2011

http://www.vimeo.com/23982284

if you're in a rush, best part is from 37:15-38:15

its not about "space" but its about the presence / professionalism / atmosphere they exuded during their set in MDF. with whatever little they had, they took advantage of. actually, that clip from Madrid doesn't do them justice, they're a bit sloppy there and drummer kept playing between songs, in MDF they locked that shit down.

Give this a listen and learn what real insanity and violence sounds like.
obviously one of the heaviest things you will ever hear in your life
obviously
Ask a random friend or family member to listen to this over 5 minutes. No-one without a trained ear will succeed.
the most brutal death metal album to be released so far this decade
It is a masterpiece that pushes music in new directions; it seems like the men of Wormed have crossed some kind of brutality threshold, and are at the point where notes, music and structure are prepared to unravel into something else entirely. But it all just holds together, to make this a work of almost frightening profundity and remorselessness.

not going attempt and white-knight something whose appeal is admittedly hard for me to describe, but for new listeners that live set is no place to start; the old drummer is above and beyond

SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Reconstruction in the amorphous line of time
Powerful emanation of energy
I see the constellations changing colour
Mathematical combination of triangular visions

Perfect
to Syntonizing the elements to create the tunnel
Absorbing all planet energy, I'm the vortex, the epicentre...

Graphical emanation of numbers in my evolved system

Emanation

Equal Position? The equal unequal...
Erroneous calculation,
the imperfection of the human mind
Primitive facts, spectral sounds
Desperately in the surface I scream

Reconstruction in the amorphous line of time
Powerful emanation of energy

Perceived by the ones
Distant to understand, distant from stand
Insects are trying to introduce in the tunnel
Non-physical forms, the nucleus have to grow

Broken

Micro magnetic spectral perception

Manifest

Reconstruction in the amorphous line of time
Powerful emanation of energy
I see the constellations changing colour
Mathematical combination of triangular visions

Distant to understand, distant from stand
Distant to understand

Tunnel of ions

Equal position? The equal unequal...
Erroneous calculation,
The imperfection of the human mind
Primitive facts, spectral sounds.
also... he actually does say all the lyrics - sometimes lines are repeated in the song but not in the text,

i'll give you that much- that's some pretty snazzy drumming, especially after listening to that fuckawful morbid angel album

i'm still not seeing this supposed next-level brootality at work though

That Morbid Angel album is on such a different level of bad that I don't even care.

Sure it's basically the Phobophile of their stuff, but experiencing the breakdown of Ylem live

It changes your perspective on some things

Things about death metal mostly

were you at there at MDF3? When they slowed down that breakdown nearly like Corrupted's pace? they didn't do it on this one but still you hit the spot with your statement. that and the amazing riff on Planisphærium.
