As of this morning I'm down 41lbs.

Damn, man. I've dropped about 20 pounds in four months at this point, and now I've been 3 pounds away from my weight goal for what seems like forever (in reality it's like 3 weeks, but you know.) I dunno what's wrong, but I always seem to lose weight in bursts even though my diet and exercise routine is pretty consistent. I guess I just have to wait.

That week of training at altitude had some pretty scary effects, though. I've always responded well to cardio training (genetics - my dad's turning 61 this year and can still ride the shit out of a mountain bike), but my resting pulse is down to 54 now and I have to do my regular route from before twice because otherwise it feels like I'm just getting warmed up.

I may actually be healthier now than I was at 20. Now if I can just stay away from the fucking smokes this time...

Ok, I'm pretty sure the old lady is fucking with the scale now. As of this morning I have officially lost 50lbs. Looks like I picked the right week to have a few beers.....

Oh yeah, I hit my target weight (anything under 85kg, basically) on Wednesday. But now I'm thinking down to 80kg by the end of the year, I really could still stand to lose a few. I'll probably eat a bit more now (been on a steady routine of 1500 calories a day and constantly fussing about my protein intake for six weeks, and I've about had it), but not much differently and see if I can get there. Given that I have to have surgery in my leg again in October, though, I should probably just focus on maintaining weight. Don't know how long that's gonna keep me off the bike, but probably for a while.

I started getting my shit together diet and fitness wise last April and didn't touch a drop of beer until that October. I'm not much of a beer drinker anyway but I love most of the pumpkin seasonal shit so I decided to treat myself. At this point I'd dropped about 50 of the 65 pounds I would go on to lose. I bought a six pack of Dogfish Head Punkin Ale and slammed the first two. By the time I got to the last one I was slobbering retarded fucking shitfaced drunk, yelling and hugging everyone and shit. I couldn't finish the last one and I puked in the yard.
