OK, I'm not really up to date here, but is it true that all Ozzie said said was basically he admired Castro for surviving all those assassination attemps? cause, if so... that's really not so fucking terrible. Kurt Vonnegut got roasted alive by the GOP for saying that terrorists who strap bombs to themselves had balls, and I don't see anything wrong with that statement either.

Yeah, I think we can all agree he shouldn't be suspended for that, but it's a PR/damage control move by the Marlins.

It's actually really hilarious now that I think about it. The Marlins went way out of their way during their rebranding to build their appeal to the Cuban community, and to present themselves to the rest of the country as cool Miami Latino Cubanos with fish jumping over murals or whatever. Then their manager is like, "You know who's not so bad? Fidel Castro." It's brilliant really.
