yeah i think i did it in 7-8 hours? And that was scronging around all the nooks and crannies for Intel.

Yep. I played the first hour and thought, "this sucks ass" but kept reading rave reviews here and around the internet. Picked it back up a few months later and I polished it off in a weekend. A shame they had to devote resources to multiplayer (that was probably dead after 3 days) as I would have liked to see more....

Speaking of beat em ups, I just downloaded this to MAME on my work computer (see: why the Chinese are winning) and MAN. These memories. This is the only beat em up I think I ever beat in the arcade, I remember me and some 20-something guy I didn't even know (I was like 10) just credit feeding as necessary because it was so awesome and we had to get to the end.

When the credits rolled we high-fived. BAMES

dude. about 10 years ago I rememebr me and my buddy played that in santa cruz at the boardwalk arcade. There are so many fucking "Final Boss fights" its insane. We played for so long and when we got to what i found out years later was the actual last fight we lost andcould not get the coins in fast enough to continue. Saddest day of my life.

I still have this $100 in gamestop money burning a hole in my pocket. I think today might be the day of the 3DS.

I've got 100+ Amazon dollars and was thinking of doing that as well. I don't know, it's sort of an expensive investment for something I don't have a history of keeping my attention. Gameboy Advanced, iPhone games... I just never play them.

Yeah, I worry if it's going to hold my attention or not. But the idea of playing it in bed before I go to sleep or taking it on plane rides and stuff seems really awesome. Hmmmm. Welp, if I get one on the way home I'll post about it!

What game would you get? I think I'd start with the DS library. Play the Mario, and Castlevania games first. Maybe a Zelda DS title.

Just get the PC/360/PS3 version that's coming out on May 21st.

I always hear different stuff about this. When the system came out it's almost all anyone said - but subsequently I haven't heard a single person talk about the stupid circle pad thing. I don't see anybody who owns one. It might have just been one of those stupid game journalism talking points.

Between a special they were having for GAMESTOP PRO (it worked out that it was going to save me even more money to cough up the 15 bucks for one) and the $100 credit I had, I spent about 80 bucks on the thing. I bought Professor Effimenent's Puzzle Adventure and Resident Evil: Reva-need-a-new-title at the pawn shop next door for 18 bucks all together.

I've only set up the thing and connected to the web and got my account going thus far. Well, I DID play about 15 minutes of Doctor Foppish and the Case of the Missing Masculinity and think it's pretty awesome so far.

finally beat doom ii. game actually gave me a stomach ache from tension.

went back and beat doom i, which was crazy easy on harder difficulties compared to ii.

now i'm going through all the doom/wolf 3d clones.

beat dark forces, which had great level design but quite tame/boring.

now i'm replaying terminator: future shock and skynet which are two of my favorite pc action games.

? And what the fuck is Pokeman all about? I mean I get the concept of Pokeman overall, but why do so many grown men soil themselves over the portable Pokeman games?

The grown men that soil themselves over it got into it when they were children. If you missed that boat, don't bother. Its a fucking worthless game other than for nostalgia. My gf likes it and usually brings her old gameboy advance when we go on roadtrips and I had a go at it and its fucking dumb. Its basically "baby's first RPG" so its like going back to play the first zelda, or final fantasy or whatever.
