Really starting to admire this Nic Pizzolatto guy...I think he played the bartender in this episode. Didn't know he had what seems to be a decent novel out.

Re: True Detective (HBO)
Caught up so can join in love fest. I've never though I would speak the words "Matthew McConahowever is really, really good in this".
And paralegal mistresses boob reveal, my "plis oh plis" thought bubble as that scene started up was gloriously rewarded.
I like how the show doesn't tease you with options as to what might happen, rather just completely, superliminally (JOIN THE NAVY) sets you up and the pay-offs are none the less devastating and shocking for the fact that the directors walked you right into it.
Predictable in the "can you believe what we're about to do to these people?" sense.

Re: True Detective (HBO)
The fact that the rich people's devil-worshipping group that the prisoner spoke of still hasn't even been seen yet has me really excited for the last 4 episodes. I'm guessing there's a cover-up that went down, involving the governor or his preacher brother (the one who wanted the Anti-Christian Task Force created to look into the crime), but then again, this show seems to never go the obvious route.

For anyone taking notes: if you're going to impersonate police officers for your heist, shave off your 12" beards.godofdeadlydeath wrote:

I loved how the project people started yelling "Fake-ass po-po! Y'all ain't cops!" from the second they got in the house. That whole escalation of violence was so well done. "Don't fire. Do not fire."Whiffleball Ace wrote:For anyone taking notes: if you're going to impersonate police officers for your heist, shave off your 12" beards.godofdeadlydeath wrote:

Yes. That and the silhouettes crowding the windows... it was beautifully done. Also, Cohle snapping into psycho preparation mode while Hart just kind of watched in awe was great.godofdeadlydeath wrote:I loved how the project people started yelling "Fake-ass po-po!
