that resistance :gong:

get the wolf ring and havel gauntlets for poise. problem sort of solved. more vitality, more dex (as that seems to be sort of the direction you could go in) with dex scaling weapons (slashy swords - katanas, curved, bows, etc).

i've been watching far too much dark souls vid on youtube lately. came across this series that covers the lore of the game. very well done, and despite the cringy "prepare to cry" name of the series, this first one about artorias and sif hits... :(
really amazing stuff though, doing a fantastic job of explaining the story.

Yeah his stuff is great. I think he passes off some speculation as fact to make it more dramatic sometimes but very cool regardless.

That's what I fucking love about those games. In the spoon fed narrative era of modern video games, Dark Souls is such an amazing game with it's drip feed story bits and whatever you imagine plot. It's up to the player to fill in the blanks and as much as I appreciate those Youtube videos, I never ever want to watch them. In my mind, Sif and Artorias is one of the strongest video game relationships. The Walking Dead and Journey got nothing on Dark Soul's story.

that video (especially the last part) is a must watch for anyone who killed sif before doing the DLC.

i don't want dark souls 2 to be too heavy on the cinematics, but more shit like that would be awesome

You might get some pros telling you yes but there's not much worse than closing the menu and seeing how small your health and stamina bars suddenly are..

He has such a cool backstory, I kind of didn't want to kill him and instead join forces.

Yes. It might be a decent ring at the beginning but it quickly becomes a crutch and there are much better rings to use. Wolf ring, Darkwood Grain ring, Havel's ring, Hornet ring, Red Tearstone ring, Lingering ring and Bellowing Dragoncrest ring for magic users, Covetous Gold Serpent and Covetous Silver Serpent rings for farming...

Yeah, RoFaP isn't bad, especially when you're getting used to the game, but the wolf ring + darkwood grain ring can make you a seriously agile threat who can stand toe to toe with the most beastly of enemies, even for a build with light armor

Yeah, and I got seriously wrecked. I ended up buying a reinforced club from the merchant in the undead burg and upgraded it to Divine. A blunt divine weapon is ideal for those skeletal fucks. Or you could use Astora's straight sword that you find by the undead dragon in the valley of the drakes by the blight town entrance. You need 14 faith to use it though.

You could do it without a divine weapon if you can make it to the necromancers and kill them off. They're the reason the skeletons come back to (un)life. But that's likely to be a suicide run and it's more headache than it's worth.

I went to the catacombs without a divine weapon. Got wrecked once or twice, said fuck it and started to book it. Ended up killing a necromancer and a light went off in my head. Felt like a supreme warrior then met thr bone wheel guys and felt weak again.

silver knight spear. does faith damage without the prerequisites, and it's a sweet weapon to boot.
