Yeah, weird hodgepodge matchup with the Rockets that makes for entertaining games, but this is the Playoff Spurs, not Regular Season Spurs that the Rockets swept. I just have to assume by now the regular season is like a long preseason for the postseason for a team that's been together forever, so they can pretty much execute any type of game they want after scouting the shit out of you. Also Kawhi Leonard has come alive...

They'll have trouble with LAC/OKC though. You can just plan your game a lot easier against young inexperienced teams like Blazers/Rockets. Have you read what Portland players are saying about the Spurs compared to the Rockets? Holy shit

i think they confuse "rising star" with "good player that is also young"

it's not like he's going to become a max guy ever, but that's not his game. he's not an alpha dog, he's not a get-on-my-back player, he's basically the ultimate front rotation player that can do all of the things you need and want a basketball player to do

Wow last night's Clippers/Thunder game just reminded me why I don't really watch basketball anymore.

officiating was unusually bad last night. but it's not the norm.

Haven't really thought back on it though actually. Clips definitely got fucked after the refs dipped their junk in sand. Chris Paul definitely fucked up at the end (again) although didn't it seem like Jackson got his arm? Haven't listened to my usual shows or read my blogs yet today.

anyhow. the clips got hosed in the nba that exists today. straight punked by allegedly pro refs that have a real knack for making themselves, and not the players, the story. i say this as somebody that would generally excuse most of the non-perkins thunder players of most everything up to and including hitting innocent children in the face with a claw hammer. fucked., fuckdked.

that said, the clips got screwed insofar as any review system with limits will screw people. in the framework of the rules as written, yep, hundo percent screwed. in the grand scheme of things, not at all screwed, considering the glaringly obvious foul on that play. and that's why i think review of any kind is dumb and stupid: it won't catch everything by design, despite the fact that those things it won't catch can have just as big an impact on the game as things it can catch. and even if one concedes that some review is okay, last night proves that it doesn't necessarily mean that the right call will come out of it! at that point, what benefit does review grant the screwed-over team? doubly nothing: the wrong call, and the wrong re-call. fuck i hate review.

Miami will win. What's the point of having a regular season in this boring league?

That's pretty easy to say now that the playoffs are half over. And really, what do you expect? The east fucking sucks and the exciting teams in the west aren't mature enough to beat the Spurs or good enough to stop Durant/Westbrook. A Washington/Portland or Pacers/Rockets final would have been fun, but having the four best teams playing in the conference finals doesn't sound so bad. It actually kinda justifies the entire season.

I think I'd be kinda down on the NBA if the Pacers made it to the finals. Did Roy Hibbert get fat? I actually wanted this team to get to the finals last year or two

They should get rid of Western and Eastern conferences and go with best overall records. No fucking way half the EC teams deserved to be in the playoffs.
