Yeah I liked the first 10 hours or so of Dead Island and then stopped. No thanks to more of the same.

Might hop on Arkham Origins because there are $20~25 Steam codes on ebay. Perhaps I should finish Arkham City first (or one of the other 200 games I should finish), which just had GFWL removed and Steamworks implemented. Also, if you own either Batman game on Steam you get a free GOTY upgrade.

i was way into that game for a while until i got to tokyo and you can't take 3 steps without another random encounter. and then you end up doing so many of those that you're overpowered and the fights are stupid. like, come on game, just let me advance.

and i'd say anything under $8 is my threshold if i have any interest.

It's not that we don't care, it's just that we already know/knew what the game's faults were going to be after the first couple of reviews but for some reason you seemed to need to see it for yourself

which again is totally fine; I've played some games that I had read mostly bad reviews for and then enjoyed just fine (Prototype) so I totally understand wanting to try it out for yourself

But if anyone does have an issue (which, probably no one does) I think it's coming from you echoing the reviews, but like guys you'll never believe what this game is like

The game itself can run on old machines due to basically being half life 2 mod.

My wife's best friends just sent me "The End of Us" as a get-well gift for having my gall bladder removed. I heard good things about it but never seriously considered playing it. Guess I'm going to have to break away from Skyrim again.

The Last of Us? Great game, some eyerollingly bad dialogue and scenarios, a few instances of the creators trying to act like a movie instead of giving the player freedom but overall one of the best games to come out this year. Really great dynamic between the two main characters.

The Last of Us? Yup-- played it and beat it.

I really enjoyed the story and I had a good time playing it. However, the second I finished it, I had absolutely no inclination to play it again. It's been months and every time I think about re-playing it, I just sort of go "Meh". Not sure why. But, yeah, it's a cool world to get lost in for a while and I think just what the doctor ordered for having some bame time due to a recovery.

Ha, i knew I was getting the title wrong. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll probably start on it this afternoon.
