don't give a fuck what the masses or critics think...this 2nd season is great.
this last episode reminded me of the trying to rescue audrey from one eyed jack's twin peaks episode.

That last few minutes
Frank is taking care of business. Finally his character has become interesting.

This season is a-ok by me
if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

Re: True Detective (HBO)
The Frank scenes were excellent. Everything else was bogus. I'm entertained enough to keep watching this series but it's really the same way that I enjoy watching MST3K at this point.
Hopefully, the season finale won't ring out too many more clichés that this season has already been bloated with. Maybe the last episode's director won't have such an obvious inclination for some stylistic choice that's dissonant with the others that have been sprinkled throughout episodes (I can't be the only one who is taken way out of the illusion of Vinci's reality by being given Tokyo Drift shots one episode and freeze frames in another and slow mo in this past episode...). Maybe someone who I actually give a shit about will die (or quickly check in on the most boring room in the serie's universe just to give you 30 seconds of filler).
The second half of the season has been way better than the first, but it's still dopey as hell.

I gotta say I enjoyed the kid from Friday Night Lights going full Sam Fisher for his final hurrah.
