This Mastery record is so good. It's the closest thing I have to another Katharsis record, but with some unexpected turns throughout the songs. I think my only gripe is the length of the three longer songs, but this is one of my favorite black metal releases of the year.

yeah this Mastery stuff is pretty bananas. Little too much skronk and improvisation for my tastes but an interesting listen. I'm not sure what my favorite blackmetal release is this year. That Aryan Art album that got posted was pretty cool. That VI album is great too.

New Goblin (Rebirth, not the other one) is good shit. I wouldn't put it on par with John Carpenter's album but it rules pretty hard

I'm just going to go ahead and say this too: I think that the new Cradle of Filth album is immensely enjoyable. The last album of theirs that I liked was Damnation and a Day and even then, only about half of it is good. They aren't putting out Dusk pt. 2 or anything, but the new shit is fine [/chainwallet]

I'm curious, would you go see COF live? They're coming here. I haven't been a fan since 2000-ish, but I might go just for the spectacle. Should I?
